COZY AMBIENT GAME
Tasked with the complete visual development for Pomodoro Wizard, I designed all environment assets and character concepts for this gamified productivity app. The project centers on Pomodor, a wizard in a cosmic tower, providing a whimsical companion for user focus. My work involved translating the client's vision into a cohesive asset library that supports the app's unique blend of time management, procedural music, and immersive ASMR atmospheres.

Brief
Design a floating tower for Pomdor the Wizard, serving as the central hub for the gamified experience. Key requirements included a cosmic setting, a fireplace for ASMR ambiance, and a "Magic Window" that displays shifting worlds instead of deep space. The design needed to answer functional questions: Where does he sleep? Where does he cook? How does he manage his daily routine in a confined, floating space?
Design Solution
Following an initial silhouette exploration, a circular structure with a pointed roof was selected to evoke a friendly yet reclusive wizard archetype. The main challenge was mapping the interior (library, kitchen, and fireplace) within a 3/4 top-down perspective. To resolve the circular floor plan and staircase, I developed a 3D lighting study in Blender to accurately calculate how the fireplace illumination would interact with the small, cozy interior.
Brief
Create a protagonist inspired by the classic "Merlin" archetype (Disney’s The Sword in the Stone). The character needed to feel timeless and welcoming, acting as a non-intrusive companion for the user’s focus sessions.
Design Solution
Developed through iterative silhouette sketching, focusing on a recognizable and comforting wizard profile. Three iterations were refined, culminating in a final design that includes a pet owl for added character depth. Although the facial features are simplified for game-scale visibility, a specific portrait study was conducted to establish Pomdor’s "hermit-but-friendly" mood and personality.
Brief
Develop a cosmic background utilizing a "Retro-inspired" palette of deep violets and blues. The environment needed to provide visual interest without distracting from the productivity tasks.
Design Solution
To add dynamism to the static nature of a timer app, I proposed a massive, panoramic background. This allow for a parallax scrolling effect (either the tower or the background moving), creating a sense of perpetual cosmic transit. The final asset is an ultra-wide canvas designed for seamless motion, rendered with a restricted color palette to resamble the aesthetic of classic 16-bit era games.
